CV

Ina Leyendecker studied law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and successfully passed the first state law examination at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf. She is a legal trainee assigned to the Regional Court of Düsseldorf.

She specialised in German and international private and procedural law. In her specialisation paper entitled “Drunk driving and hit-and-run in motor vehicle insurance”, she dealt with disputes over the insurer's obligation to pay.

Early in her studies she took part in a seminar on “General personality rights in the analogue and digital age” and wrote a paper on “Digital estates”, focusing on inheriting access to digital networks and the legal assessment of analogue accounts with digital management in connection with information rights and data protection law.

Alongside her studies, Ms Leyendecker worked as a student assistant at Dr. Andres Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft. There she gained experience in family and inheritance law and in company law. Through her research and editing work she contributed her knowledge to publications in all practice areas (e-book: “Heute schon gepflichtteilt?”, publications in the journal “gmbh intern”, a commentary on the Fiscal Code) and helped prepare lectures and publications for students (e-book: “Die Top 89 cleversten Tipps für optimalen Hausarbeitserfolg”). Later – initially as a student assistant and, after successfully passing the first state law examination, as a law graduate (Diplomjuristin) – Ms Leyendecker worked for the notary Dr. Jens Heinig in Monheim am Rhein. There she gained extensive practical experience, particularly in family and inheritance law: she drafted wills, contracts of inheritance, disclaimers of inheritance, applications for certificates of inheritance, (partial) divisions of estates and legacy fulfilment agreements, general and lasting powers of attorney, special powers of attorney and transfer/gift agreements, including complex marriage contracts and divorce settlement agreements. She helped correct legal online commentaries and also supported the real estate law and company law departments.

She gained further practical experience through internships at the law firm Ingendahl Thyssen & Kollegen and with the Wesel district police authority. With the police, Ms Leyendecker gained extensive practical experience in public law, criminal law and the prison system. Her tasks included advising operational staff and managers on legal matters, particularly in complex operations and legally sensitive measures. She contributed to statements, opinions and internal guidelines. Alongside her legal education, Ms Leyendecker is involved in university sport in Düsseldorf and does taekwondo. At the 2025 German University Championships she took second place in her weight class.

With her practice-oriented training and wide-ranging practical experience, Ms Leyendecker strengthens the firm as a research assistant, particularly in family law.
