What is your concern?

Choose whether it concerns your company or you personally. For each concern, we show you how we proceed.

Deadline running

The deadline in an Abmahnung (formal warning letter) is usually short. We review the allegations, costs and the cease-and-desist declaration before you sign or pay anything.

Defend against an Abmahnung

The service description, acceptance and liability decide whether a project succeeds. We draft and review your IT contracts and also represent you in a dispute.

Review an IT contract

The AI Act imposes requirements on providers and deployers of AI systems. We clarify which obligations specifically apply to your company.

Implement the AI Act

You do not have to accept untrue statements of fact in the press or online. We enforce injunctions, counter-statements and removal against media and platforms.

Protect your reputation
Deadline running

From service, every day counts. We review the prohibition in the einstweilige Verfügung (preliminary injunction) and clarify with you whether an objection or a final declaration is the right way.

Review the injunction
Deadline running

A data breach usually has to be reported to the supervisory authority within 72 hours. We assess the incident and support the notification and communication.

Report a data breach

False facts or abusive criticism on Google, Kununu or other portals do not have to stay. We demand removal from the operator.

Remove a review

A similar name or a copied logo weakens your trademark. We secure your rights and take action against the infringer.

Defend your trademark

A deadline is running? Send us your documents via the enquiry form or our secure system. We will get back to you within 24 hours on working days.

Report an urgent case

You do not have to accept untrue facts or a distorted portrayal. We enforce injunctions, counter-statements and corrections for you.

Challenge a report

What you say today may be published tomorrow. We review the press enquiry and coordinate your answer with you.

Clarify a press enquiry

Hate comments, fake profiles and abusive posts can often be removed. We demand removal from platforms and authors and enforce injunctions.

Remove content

We also take the threat of publication seriously. We act discreetly against perpetrators and platforms, including in deepfake cases.

Remove images

The right to your own image protects you online, in the press and in advertising. We enforce injunctions and your claims.

Enforce image rights

Whether doctor, coach or self-employed: inadmissible reviews do not have to stay. We demand removal from the portal.

Remove a review

A block on Instagram, Facebook or X costs reach and income. We get your account back, in urgent proceedings if necessary.

Recover your account

Labelling, cooperation agreements and rights of use decide your business. We review your contracts and protect you from costly Abmahnungen by competitors.

Clarify influencer law
Deadline running

Enforce your rights

Transfer of rights, term and royalties often have effect for many years. We review the contract and negotiate better terms before you sign.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ITMR

Is ITMR a law firm for IT law and media law?

Yes. ITMR Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB is a specialist law firm for IT law and media law with Fachanwälte für IT-Recht (certified specialist lawyers for IT law) and a Fachanwalt für Urheber- und Medienrecht (certified specialist lawyer for copyright and media law). In IT law, we advise on everything from IT and software contracts, SaaS and platforms to e-commerce, cybersecurity and IT compliance. In media law, we represent you in press law and the law on statements (Äußerungsrecht). We also advise on data protection, AI law and intellectual property.

What is a Fachanwalt für IT-Recht?

Only lawyers on whom the Rechtsanwaltskammer (regional bar association) has conferred the title may call themselves Fachanwalt für IT-Recht (officially: Fachanwalt für Informationstechnologierecht, certified specialist lawyer for information technology law). The requirements are three years of admission and practice within the last six years, a course of at least 120 hours and three passed written exams. In addition, the lawyer must have handled 50 IT law cases personally in the last five years, at least 10 of them court or other formal proceedings. After that, at least 15 hours of further training must be proven every year (§§ 3, 4, 4a, 5, 15 FAO, the German specialist lawyer regulations). The three partners Jean Paul P. Bohne, Andreas Buchholz and Dr. Alexander Pleh are Fachanwälte für IT-Recht; Jean Paul P. Bohne is also a Fachanwalt für Urheber- und Medienrecht.

Each partner has worked as a litigator for more than 10 years. They work with further lawyers, employed and freelance, supported by certified paralegals, legal assistants and research assistants. More on this under Fachanwalt and Why ITMR (in German).

What does an initial consultation with a Fachanwalt für IT-Recht cost?

The first contact is free of charge: we listen, clarify responsibility and the possible next step. The initial consultation itself is not automatically free of charge. We clarify the scope and costs transparently before you instruct us. What an initial consultation (in German) covers and which documents help is explained on the initial consultation page.

Does ITMR also support contracts, compliance and enforcement?

Yes. ITMR supports you from the assessment and risk analysis through contract law and contract drafting and the set-up of (IT) compliance to out-of-court and court enforcement, including receivables management and debt collection, mediation and arbitration.

Does ITMR advise on data protection law and AI law?

Yes. We advise on implementing the GDPR (DSGVO), on data transfers and in proceedings before data protection supervisory authorities. In AI law, we support you with the AI Act and contracts with AI providers. Further topics are data law and the Data Act, platform law and the DSA, as well as cybersecurity, NIS2 and compliance.

Is there a Fachanwalt for data protection law or AI law?

No, there are no separate specialist lawyer titles for data protection law or AI law. Depending on the mandate, the Fachanwalt für IT-Recht (officially: Fachanwalt für Informationstechnologierecht), the Fachanwalt für Urheber- und Medienrecht and the Fachanwalt für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz (intellectual property) provide orientation. Specialisation and practical experience with digital business models also count.

Which companies is ITMR the right law firm for?

For companies of every size, from start-ups and medium-sized businesses to multinational corporations. This includes in particular agencies, platform operators, SaaS and tech companies, rights holders as well as public figures and executives.

Does ITMR advise throughout Germany?

Yes. From Düsseldorf and our branch office in Hamburg, we advise and represent companies throughout Germany; many mandates are handled digitally. How working together begins is explained under service packages and initial consultation (in German).

How do I find the right way in: area of law, service package or initial consultation?

If you already know that your matter concerns IT law, media law, data protection law, copyright law, trademark law, competition law, advertising law or intellectual property, you can start with the area of law. For specific situations, the service packages help. If the situation first needs to be sorted legally, the initial consultation is the right start.
