CV
Žana Stepanović is a research assistant at ITMR Rechtsanwälte and has successfully passed the first state law examination.
She studied law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf until 2026. In 2025 she successfully completed her specialisation in “German and International Private and Procedural Law”, gaining in-depth insight into family and inheritance law and their international aspects. Through her research paper on “International Family Law” and her oral examination in “Contract Drafting in Family and Inheritance Law”, she engaged intensively with these topics and was able to deepen her knowledge in these areas. On completing her specialisation, Žana earned the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).
Through various internships, such as the judicial internship at the Higher Regional Court, and taking part in the in-house moot court in civil law, she gained comprehensive insight into the legal working world and was able to apply her knowledge in practice. During her judicial internship in particular, numerous excursions – including to the LVR clinic, the prison and the forensic psychiatric unit – gave her valuable and varied impressions of different institutions of the legal and justice system.
She has very good language skills in German, English, Croatian and Spanish. She was able to significantly improve her English during an eight-month stay in the USA after finishing school.
