CV
Lawyer and founding partner of our firm Jean Paul Bohne studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, with civil law as his elective. His seminar paper dealt with "Fundamental questions of European legal harmonisation" and was held as a seminar in Austria at the University of Vienna, Institute of Civil Law. The Faculty of Law and Economics awarded him the master's degree Magister iuris [Mag. iur.]. Alongside his studies he worked for a well-known Bonn telecommunications and media company in its legal and regulatory department – telecommunications law.
After graduating, Mr Bohne completed his legal traineeship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, assigned to the Regional Court of Aachen. During this time he worked at a regional law firm, where cases in copyright law in particular were among his responsibilities. He successfully passed the second state law examination before the NRW State Judicial Examination Office in Düsseldorf, qualifying him to hold judicial office.
Since 11.11.11, Jean Paul P. Bohne has been admitted as a lawyer and works exclusively in conflict management, copyright law and media law, intellectual property law as well as IT law, data protection law and IT compliance. He is also interested in developments in artificial intelligence (AI), the metaverse and MR/AR/VR, legal tech, foundations, pro bono consulting in Germany and mediation.
Through further part-time studies from 2012 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Mr Bohne obtained the academic degree Master of Laws [LL.M.] in media law in 2013. He wrote academic papers on "Enforcing press-law injunctive claims" and "Civil proceedings in copyright law".
In February 2013, media lawyer Bohne completed the specialist lawyer course in copyright and media law.
Lawyer Jean Paul P. Bohne supports creatives and has also volunteered since 2014. He completed the foundation adviser course at Deutsche StiftungsAkademie GmbH Berlin in foundation law, foundation tax law, asset investment, accounting and formation advice.
In 2015, on the basis of his proven special theoretical knowledge and practical experience in copyright and media law, the board of the Düsseldorf Bar Association granted him the right to use the title certified specialist lawyer for copyright and media law.
Since 2015 Mr Bohne has also held a TÜV Rheinland certification (certipedia.com/quality_marks/0000026192) as a data protection officer. Following intensive training in data protection at TÜV Rheinland AG, specialist lawyer Jean Paul P. Bohne has since 2016 also held a TÜV Rheinland certificate (certipedia.com/quality_marks/7511150561) as a data protection auditor, so that with his proven expertise he can carry out regular data protection audits in companies.
In 2016 he successfully completed the specialist lawyer course in intellectual property law. In the same year he completed the specialist lawyer course in information technology law [IT law] at the DAA in Düsseldorf.
Since 2017, owing to his special knowledge and experience, the board of the Düsseldorf Bar Association has also permitted Mr Bohne to use the title certified specialist lawyer for information technology law.
Since 2017 Jean Paul P. Bohne has supported the Deutsche Stiftung Mediation on a voluntary basis. Since 2017 he has been listed by the Düsseldorf Bar Association as a mediator on the basis of his proven training. His basic training in dispute resolution alone amounts to 1,800 hours.
In 2018, as the person responsible for quality management, he implemented TÜV Rheinland-certified law firm management according to ISO 9001:2015 at our firm.
Also in 2018 he qualified as a certified (certipedia.com/quality_marks/0000038788) IT compliance manager [TÜV] and – now also TÜV Rheinland certified (certipedia.com/quality_marks/0000059425) – as an external data protection officer [TÜV] including the EU GDPR. As a certified specialist lawyer for IT law and certified data protection auditor, he thus offers our clients special expertise in IT compliance and data protection management. He is fully informed about the legal requirements, norms and standards relevant to IT compliance, can ensure compliance with them and, through targeted management, guarantees the continuous implementation of data protection and protection against IT liability risks.
Studying part-time in Hagen, he studied mediation and in 2019 obtained the academic degree Master of Mediation [MM] with the elective business mediation.
The International Association of Privacy Professionals [IAPP], the world's largest organisation in the field of data protection, validated Mr Bohne's data protection expertise and accredited him in 2020 with the internationally recognised certificate "Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe" [CIPP/E].
Since 2020 he has supported non-profit initiatives combating digital violence. In this context Mr Bohne represents, for example, people affected by insults, defamation, cyberbullying, hate speech, doxxing or hatestorms.
Since 2021 lawyer Bohne has been recognised by the IAPP as a "Certified Information Privacy Manager" [CIPM].
IT and media lawyer Bohne consolidates his expertise by regularly attending further training. He passes on his knowledge in talks, seminars and workshops.
Since 2022 he has intensified his training of prospective fully qualified lawyers; in particular he is authorised to train legal trainees.
From 2021 to 2024 he studied project and process management part-time.
Long before ChatGPT and the like, lawyer Bohne was advising and representing clients in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and he has helped and continues to help companies keep track of developments in AI law and the AI Regulation, the AI Act. In 2025 he also completed the AI officer course to keep broadening his horizons in the business field and has been certified by DEKRA as an AI officer since December 2025.
Since 2026 he has been deepening his experience in digital transformation & artificial intelligence academically at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft & Gesellschaft of BFI Vienna, Master of Business Administration [MBA].
